Segments: Cities in Time, Light and Motion is a groundbreaking photographic monograph with a distinctive approach. In this remarkable book, Buenos Aires-based Argentine photographer Sergio Castiglione, renowned for his photographic work and trained as an architect, presents a captivating collection of images showcasing some of Europe's most storied cities. What truly sets these photographs apart is their remarkable ability to transcend time as they are meticulously composed from segmented shots captured at different moments. The resulting images possess both aesthetic dynamism and philosophical ingenuity, captivating viewers through the evocative power of familiar urban landscapes seen through an expert architectural lens while also prompting us to reconsider our temporal existence, the layered passage of time, and the ever-evolving nature of the cities we inhabit and the lives we lead within them.
Featuring enlightening texts by the architectural professor Victor Deupi, author Alejandro G. Roemmers, and the artist Fabiana Barreda, Segments: Cities in Time, Light and Motion is a distinctive, original volume that takes us on a journey through some of Europe's great cities, encouraging us to regard our surroundings with a fresh perspective, a heightened awareness of time, and a deeper sensitivity to the spaces we inhabit.
