Scraps of Song and Southern Scenes is a collection of poems and sketches by Montgomery M. Folsom, originally published in 1889. The book is divided into two parts, with the first section containing Folsom's poetry and the second section containing his sketches of Southern life and culture. The poems in the book cover a range of topics, including love, nature, and spirituality, and are written in a lyrical and evocative style. The sketches offer a glimpse into the daily life of Southern communities, with scenes depicting everything from a cotton plantation to a country church service. Folsom's writing is characterized by a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Southern landscape and a keen observation of the people who inhabit it. Overall, Scraps of Song and Southern Scenes is a charming and nostalgic tribute to the culture and traditions of the American South. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
