In Say Goodbye to Jimmy Brown, James Stanhope-Brown relates the fascinating story of how, on leaving a stark and often cruel children's home, he was adopted by a family to begin a new life, along with his beautiful sister Sylvia. In this intriguing and often touching story, we realise how unworldly and disadvantaged Jimmy has been, owing to his institutionalised upbringing. We also discover the controlling and manipulative ways of his new mother - ways that will bring the family to breaking point.
This largely autobiographical story covers what might be termed 'the second phase' of the author's life, following on from A Visitor for Jimmy Brown, which is the author's traumatic childhood story, originally published in 1998.
