Sam is searching for something that is missing in her life as a stray cat. A home and a family. Alex is missing a few things as she navigates her challenging life in the fifth grade. She is missing having her own pet. She misses her dad very much. She is missing out on having more friends because of her super-shy personality. For Sam, the neighborhood is where she ended up as a fugitive who narrowly escaped capture by the White Truck people. For Alex, the neighborhood is the only home she's ever known. The Little Woods is Sam's paradise where a little cat can explore, nap, and dream about finding a home and a family. Alex's Little Woods is where she escapes from her nightmares, problems and fears. Sam wishes she could once again see the family she had before becoming a stray. Alex wishes her family life could return to how it was last year. They both need help. They both need a change. They are both about to find a miracle.
