Salt in the Room is a book of tides: of bodies altered by weather, of longing that enters quietly and remains, of love experienced less as event than erosion. In these poems, MM Williams creates a lush and cinematic world where sea, skin, memory, wind, and silence move through one another until they become inseparable.

Set along harbors, storm coasts, dim rooms, flooded interiors, and sleepless shorelines, these poems inhabit the charged space between intimacy and distance. Desire arrives here not through spectacle, but through accumulation: the warmth near another body, the sound of breathing in darkness, the taste of salt left behind after departure. Again and again, the sea becomes a living language for the body itself-its tides, its ache, its surrender, its endless return.

Salt in the Room is atmospheric, tactile, and emotionally immersive. These are poems of tidal intimacy and emotional weather, where candlelight bends in the wind, rooms slowly fill with seawater, and love leaves behind its invisible residue on everything it touches.

This collection is not merely about the sea.

It is written from inside it.
