The Syntax of Dutch presents a synthesis of current thinking on Dutch syntax. Its principal focus is on describing the Dutch language; technical issues related to linguistic theory are addressed only if new light is shed on the subject.

The work is organized around the four lexical categories verbs (volumes 1-3), nouns (volumes 4-5), adjectives (volume 6), and adpositions (volume 7).
