Sugar and Jaxson are livestock guardian dogs and work hard to protect the farm animals from danger. A bobcat has been spotted a few miles away. Then, Sugar gets a whiff of something. Is it the bobcat? No! There stands the most unusual creature she's ever seen and she says she's a livestock guardian.

Sugar and Jaxson could use the extra help but is Lola a true guardian? Will she protect the farm animals when danger arises?

A great story to encourage a conversation with your child about differences. Children today are more diverse with differences including race, ethnicity, disabilities, and even the language that is spoken. Sugar's book subtly teaches that even though someone looks different, they are the same.

  • Perfect for children 2-7 years of age
  • full-color illustrations on every page
  • a bonus Did you know? page with some fun facts about livestock guardian dogs and llamas
