In many African Christian homes today, the word submission has become heavy with pain, confusion and controversy. Women carry the weight of labor, caregiving and domestic responsibility, while men, shielded by cultural norms and misapplied Scripture, withdraw from shared responsibility. In such settings, submission is often confused with servitude and leadership with privilege. This book asks the uncomfortable but necessary question: Is this truly God's design for marriage?
Through careful biblical teaching, the author shows that submission, as taught in Scripture, is voluntary, honorable and rooted in mutual love. It is preceded by the command for all Christians to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Biblical headship is not domination but sacrificial service. Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the Church; tenderly, faithfully and at great personal cost. Wives are called to submit not as inferiors but as valued partners walking in dignity and strength.
