The Stuarts On Highland is about Tom Stuart's birth family, moving away from the east Kentucky coal mine fields when he was very young. They moved north to Maysville, KY on the Ohio River for safer and steadier work and greater job opportunities. Tom's future became that of a master carpenter in residential construction, renovation and historical restoration. While working on a residence hall at Centre College in Danville, KY, he met and married Elizabeth. Thus, their residence on Highland Ave. became the heart of the family of 18 children.
