The Story of the Glittering Plain is a novel written by William Morris. The story follows the journey of a young man named Hallblithe, who sets out on a quest to find the Glittering Plain, a land of eternal happiness and beauty. Along the way, he encounters various obstacles and challenges, including a treacherous sea voyage, a fierce battle with a giant, and a dangerous encounter with a sorceress. He also meets a beautiful woman named Una, who becomes his companion and guide on his quest. Together, they travel through enchanted forests, across vast deserts, and over rugged mountains, all in search of the magical land of the Glittering Plain. Along the way, they encounter a host of strange and wondrous creatures, including talking animals, magical beings, and even a dragon. Ultimately, Hallblithe and Una must face their greatest challenge yet, as they confront the evil sorceress who seeks to destroy the Glittering Plain and all who seek to find it. The Story of the Glittering Plain is a classic tale of adventure, romance, and magic, and is sure to captivate readers of all ages.Drink, O black-fledged nestling! But call a health over the cup if thou wilt. So Hallblithe raised the cup aloft and cried: Health to the House of the Raven and to them that love it! an ill day to its foemen! Then he set his lips to the cup and drank; and that wine seemed to him better and stronger than any he had ever tasted. But when he had given the cup back again to Fox, that red one filled it again, and cried over it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
