The Story Of The Amulet is a children's fantasy novel written by Edith Nesbit. It is the third and final book in the Psammead trilogy, following Five Children and It and The Phoenix and the Carpet. The story follows the adventures of four siblings, Cyril, Anthea, Robert, and Jane, who discover a magical amulet that has the power to grant wishes. The amulet has been passed down through generations and has been used by famous historical figures such as Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great. The children use the amulet to travel through time and visit ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Babylon, and Atlantis. Along the way, they encounter various challenges and obstacles, including a wicked queen, a giant bird, and a treacherous sea voyage. They also meet a wise and friendly djinn who helps them on their journey. As they travel through time, the children learn important lessons about history, culture, and the consequences of their actions. They also learn the true power of friendship and the importance of working together to achieve their goals. The Story Of The Amulet is a timeless classic that has enchanted generations of children with its magical adventures and timeless themes. It is a must-read for anyone who loves fantasy, adventure, and the power of imagination. You will eat your breakfast before it's cold, won't you?' said Anthea. 'Yes, we had a splendid time. The charm made it all dark, and then greeny light, and then it spoke. Oh! I wish you could have heard it--it was such a darling voice--and it told us the other half of it was lost in the Past, so of course we shall have to look for it there!'This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
