BCBC Bookclub Australia: Book Of the Year 2016. Based on true events this page turning romantic adventure novel follows Welsh surfer, Rhys Evans, who travels to Sri Lanka to try and escape the memory of his girlfriend's infidelity. When there, among other adventures, Rhys is attacked by wild dogs, held at gunpoint by battle-hardened guerrillas and endures jungle surgery without anaesthetic. Then, as if this isn't enough, things get a whole lot worse when Rhys' girlfriend pursues him to rekindle their love and they are unwittingly drawn into Sri Lanka's corrupt and frightening underworld to face a thirty-year jail sentence at the Island's most notorious prison.
An easy to read fast-paced adventure story about a young person's wild exploits in the tropics.
