The Stigmata is a subject which is most commonly associated with Catholic Christianity- the appearance of seemingly supernatural wounds or marks consistent with the wounds of Jesus on the cross. This work is a mostly non-critical collection of claims of this happening, with a bit of a quasi-rational explanation given as to how such a phenomenon can manifest physically.I have added to this a foreword explaining several basic categories of such claims, including admitting that some appear to be neither fraud nor readily explained by medical science insofar as it is generally understood. A fascinating subject fleshed out by canonical church reporting spanning centuries.
