This is not a book that claims AI makes anyone a great artist. The tools lower the barrier to starting. They provide assistance with technique, with structure, with the translation of an idea into a form that can be refined. What they cannot provide is the sixty-five years of accumulated experience, specific observation, and earned perspective that the person over sixty brings to creative work - and that turns out to be exactly what the creative life requires most.
The practical person who turns toward creative work late does not start from zero. They start from a life fully lived, with more raw material than they recognize and capacities developed across decades of productive work - the tolerance for imperfect first versions, the habit of specificity, the willingness to revise without ego - that are creative virtues whether or not they have ever been called that.
The creative life is not the life of the finished work. It is the life of the making. The making is available to any person willing to begin.
