In recent years, the boom in data science has brought renewed attention to the field of statistics. Today, statistics is a required subject in high school mathematics-regardless of whether a student is in the arts or sciences-and in universities as well, data science education is gaining popularity across all disciplines. As a result, statistics has become a core foundational subject. However, many people still find statistics difficult, dislike it, or even hate it altogether. For those people, I've written a statistics book that is easy to read and approachable.
This book is not a textbook-it's a casual read. As long as you understand basic fractions, you'll be fine. Occasionally, you may come across slightly more complex equations, but feel free to skip them. They're written to be treated like magical spells in a fantasy novel-just part of the scenery.
This book is for a wide audience: high school or university students just beginning to study probability and statistics, liberal arts students who are suddenly required to take data science courses at university, working adults who now need to relearn statistics, and even science majors struggling to earn credits in their statistics class.
