It was my keen passion to depict State and Politics in Nepal with sub-titled Abstract Sketches from 1768 to 2004 (the unification in 1768 to petering out conservative regime in 2004). This book tries to portray Nepal's nation-state building through political continuity, change and conflict. This dialectics of politics is the continuum of our perception and experience of governance in Nepal. It upholds political order, political disorder and political reorder, a constant feature of politicking in this part of the world. Nepal is in transition from inside/out and outside/in. Only decisive leadership which is groomed in democracy ensures our pursuit of liberty, justice and truth. As the painter paints his canvas, so do the politicians try to create a beautiful masterpiece, pièce de résistance amid political opposition.
Our search for a life world is no different than political affairs. One best thing I try to convey in this book is democracy encourages the best version of meritocracy. Anyone can run for the higher echelons of political offices if he aspires to be competent. It unleashes individual potential, creativity and social capital. The march of peace, prosperity and happiness is defined aesthetically in democracy which is undoubtedly devoid in tyrannical or autocratic regimes. The musings and amusings of democracy embolden politics, the art and science of possible and impossible. Whatever dissatisfaction we find today will give a ray of hope for goods tomorrow. Political optimism can only save us from our moral disaster and attitudinal pessimism.
Otherwise those who carry criticisms can go and run for the political offices and fight their will to rule in the corridors of power based on electoral consent. Political analysts believe you to enter in a design of democracy to deliver public or civic service according to your uncommon high conscience against common frustration. It is sagacious to conduct the business of politics to achieve your vision of societal virtues if your counter-currents burn the flame of passion and keen desire to achieve progressivism.
