Saint Chrysostom's Homilies on the Gospel of Saint Matthew is a book that contains a collection of sermons by Saint John Chrysostom, a prominent Christian theologian and preacher of the 4th century. The sermons are focused on the Gospel of Saint Matthew, one of the four canonical gospels in the New Testament. The book is part of the Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers of the Christian Church series, which is a collection of writings by early Christian theologians and leaders. This particular volume, Volume 10, is dedicated to Saint Chrysostom's homilies on the Gospel of Saint Matthew. The sermons in the book cover a wide range of topics related to the Gospel of Matthew, including the birth and childhood of Jesus, his teachings, miracles, and parables, his death and resurrection, and his second coming. Saint Chrysostom's sermons are known for their eloquence, depth, and practical application to the lives of his listeners. Overall, Saint Chrysostom's Homilies on the Gospel of Saint Matthew is a valuable resource for scholars, pastors, and laypeople interested in the early Christian Church, the Gospel of Matthew, and the teachings of Saint John Chrysostom.1888. Volume 10 of a 14 volume set. The Homilies of St. Chrysostom on St. Matthew were undoubtedly delivered at Antioch and probably in the latter part of the time during which St. Chrysostom preached as a Presbyter. His main object is moral. He searches out with diligence both the meaning and the applications of particular passages. Some of these exhortations are on the subject of Almsgiving, The Controversy with Infidels, The Resurrection, The Theatres, and The Monks of the Mountains near Antioch. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
