I never set out to write a book about ghosts, spirits, or things that cannot easily be explained. In truth, I never set out to write a book at all.
It started with one story, then another came to me, and then another. It was almost as if, once I had opened the door, the stories were waiting on the other side.

I began to realise that these were not simply stories I was inventing. There were pieces of my own life finding their way into them - feelings, experiences, people, places and moments that had stayed with me long after they happened.
And that was when I began to wonder whether perhaps I wasn't writing the stories at all. Perhaps the stories were finding me.
My faith has always been important to me. I believe in God and I believe in the Holy Spirit. For me, faith has never needed thunder and lightning. It can be quieter than that: a feeling, a presence, a sense that there is a path in front of me even when I cannot see where it leads.
Some experiences in these pages are true. Others are stories created from imagination, places, memories and the question that has followed me for years: what if there is more around us than we can see?
I still don't have all the answers. Perhaps that is why the stories kept coming.
