Spirit Obsession a False Doctrine and a Menace to Modern Spiritualism is a book written by Rev. E. W. Sprague that focuses on the dangers of spirit obsession within the context of modern spiritualism. The book argues that the belief in spirit possession and obsession is a false doctrine that can lead to harmful and dangerous practices. Sprague provides examples of cases in which individuals have been negatively impacted by spirit obsession, and he argues that the practice of channeling spirits or allowing them to possess the body can lead to a loss of personal agency and control. The book also explores the history of spiritualism and the role that spirit obsession has played in the development of the movement. Overall, Spirit Obsession a False Doctrine and a Menace to Modern Spiritualism is a critical examination of the potential dangers of spirit obsession within the context of modern spiritualism.1915.
