25% of profits generated by this book are to be donated to the local children's hospital to help research Craniosynostosis. Craniosynostosis is a condition that affect one in two thousand new borns. A condition in with the one or more sutures in a Childs skull fuse prematurely. Early detection of the condition is crucial in order to minimize the extent of the surgery required to correct the condition. If untreated, the Childs brain development may be affected resulting in delayed cognitive and speech development within a child.
Back in 2019 my son had Craniosynostosis. Luckily the condition was detected early on and by the age of seven months my son underwent endoscopic neurosurgery. From that moment on, I developed a personal mission to help children develop their cognitive abilities at the earliest age possible. So I started developing phone applications that included learning activities which helps to develop a child's speech and vocabulary. As much as I love to program and developing applications, I naturally ventured into writing this book. Books always play a vital role in the learning, imagination and the development of a child. So naturally I wanted to bring the world of my phone apps into a book.
About The Book:
The book Spell This, is based on the phone application which is also called Spell This. In the phone app of Spell This, letters fall from the sky. The letters keep piling up until the screen is filled up and its game over. In order to clear the letters on the screen one must spell words. As the words are spelled, the letters clear from the screen. In the book, the land of Spell This is an extension of the phone app. It is a fantastical land which captures the dreams and imagination of children. The land of Spell This is a land that it is covered with blocks of letters. If you spell a word in the land of Spell This, the word spelled will come to reality. Join the main character Dinosaur, as he goes on a fun adventure in the land of Spell This. From sailing a boat, to flying a kite, to going to the moon, there is nothing that is impossible in the land of Spell This, you are only limited by your imagination.
