This is the full text of a speech given by Henry Clay on the removal of deposits from the Bank of the United States. Delivered during a pivotal moment in American economic and political history, Clay's address offers a detailed critique of President Andrew Jackson's policies regarding the national bank.
In Speech of the Hon. Henry Clay, Clay elucidates the perceived dangers of executive overreach and the potential destabilization of the American financial system. Students of American history, economics, and political science will find Clay's insights invaluable for understanding the complexities of the Jacksonian Era and the ongoing debates surrounding the role of government in the economy.
