When SCRAP Saved the Day follows Mateo, a clever nine-year-old Puerto Rican boy living in New York City. One ordinary day changes in an instant when Mateo discovers a broken robot arm in the trash behind his building. Instead of walking away, he sees possibility.
Driven by curiosity and determination, Mateo repairs the robot arm and programs it to help around his home. From tackling chores to creating surprising solutions, the robot becomes more than just a machine. It becomes proof of what imagination and problem-solving can achieve. Mateo realizes he has the power to shape his own future when he refuses to let a good idea go to waste.
Through creativity, persistence, and a love of tinkering, Mateo learns that even scrap metal can turn a dull day into something amazing and maybe even save the day.
