Being a holy deacon is more than fulfilling the scriptural qualifications of a deacon. It is walking and serving in a higher capacity. This book shares the qualities and characteristics of what makes a deacon, a holy deacon, stand out from those who merely serve a position.
People often assume if one is qualified, that somehow, they will become a good deacon. This is not necessarily true. Do you think a school or business would allow a person to teach or lead without having some form of training? Of course not! Churches should be no different. A little planning can go a long way to create successful outcomes!
Too many churches never provide training or guidelines for their deacons and yet wonder why their boards seem dysfunctional at times. Pastors now have a book and outline for teaching their deacons and at the same time, be able to share his/her vision for the church.
This book attempts to provide the tools necessary to become a great deacon. Case studies are included. Each case study are true stories of how deacons handled difficult church situations. A PowerPoint Presentation link is also included for teaching purposes.
