Lejos de ser un tratado frÃo, este libro es un acompañamiento espiritual de tú a usted: el EspÃritu Santo se le sienta al lado y le dice, capÃtulo a capÃtulo: Vayamos a ver tu historia juntos. Desde el vientre materno hasta el dÃa de hoy; desde los primeros miedos de la infancia hasta las crisis de la adultez; desde las decisiones que usted no sabe explicar hasta las veces en que todo parecÃa roto... el libro le muestra cómo el Huésped ya estaba ahÃ, sin hacer ruido, sosteniendo, frenando, empujando, consolando, incluso cuando usted no sabÃa pronunciar su nombre.
El Tomo I se mueve como una especie de Ejercicios espirituales con el EspÃritu Santo lo ayuda a releer sus pecados sin negarlos, pero también sin reducirse a ellos; le enseña a distinguir las voces interiores (ego, heridas, presiones externas) de la voz suave y firme del Huésped; lo invita a reconocer pequeños milagros cotidianos (esa llamada a tiempo, esa frase que no dijo, esa visita improvisada) como huellas discretas del Soplo. Y, poco a poco, lo conduce a la pregunta clave: qué cuartos de mi vida siguen cerrados con llave para Dios?
El camino culmina en dos movimientos fuertes: aprender a vivir la casa interior como templo -con gestos concretos, sencillos y muy aterrizados- y llegar a un acto de consagración personal al EspÃritu Santo que no se queda en la devoción superficial, sino que abarca el pasado, el presente y el futuro. El lector, al terminar, no recibe un manual para controlar al EspÃritu, sino algo más humilde y grande: una manera nueva de mirarse a sà mismo, sabiendo que su yo nunca más podrá decirse sin incluir a Alguien que habita dentro.
Este primer tomo es, a la vez, la puerta de entrada al resto de la serie y un libro completo en sà mismo. Si lo deja trabajar, no le regalará una vida sin heridas, pero sà algo más hondo: la certeza suave y testaruda de que, en cada capÃtulo de su historia, hubo y hay un Soplo que nunca se cansó de respirar con usted.
