Y sin rubor nos confiesa que todo eso que nos impregna de claridad culmina siempre en el abrazo del ser amado. La poesía de Víctor Jiménez es un estremecimiento a la orfandad existencial del hombre, incapaz de verse en la mujer que duerme a la intemperie, protegida por un ejército de mosquitos y los gritos de la noche. Sus palabras proponen una relación de intimidad con lo que nos rodea, una relación de amparo, protección y cuidado. Sin erigirse como crítico, cansado ya de excesos nos habla también de vidas vividas a destajo, esas vidas carentes de historia íntima con que a menudo tropezamos. And this is true, why? Who is going to deny that it is love that shines in the eyes of a dog? In it's verses, there is a hustle of images that dig in our gloom, that shudders without violence -Like a jewel that interrupts a pond of serene waters- towards our heart, sunken in a dessert of indifference. All intensity here felt spills and ends in our day to day: the streets, the house, the hands, a tree. And without blushing, confesses that all that permeates us with clarity, ends in the embrace of our loved one. The poetry of Victor Jimenez is a thrill to the orphanhood of man. Unable to see itself in the woman that sleeps outside, protected by an army of mosquitoes and the cries of the night. His words propose a relation of intimacy with all that surrounds us. A relationship of shelter, protection, and care. Without constructing himself as a critic and tired of excesses, he speaks to us of lives lived in pieces. Those lives lacking of intimate history which we often stumble upon. Seven Cities speaks to us of things we seem to be forgetting.
