El lector descubrirá cómo la seguidilla castellana se transformó en sevillana andaluza; cómo la guitarra se convirtió en su madre rÃtmica; y cómo las mujeres -bailaoras, cantaoras, maestras de compás- fueron las verdaderas arquitectas de este arte que, sin perder su raÃz popular, alcanzó categorÃa universal.
El libro avanza a través de un viaje cronológico y temático que abarca todos los momentos clave de su evolución:
desde las sevillanas antiguas (1850-1930), que florecieron en los cafés cantantes y los teatros, hasta el esplendor coral de los años dorados con grupos como Los Romeros de la Puebla, Amigos de Gines, Ecos del RocÃo o Cantores de HÃspalis.
También se analiza la influencia de la sevillana flamenca, la dimensión sinfónica y contemporánea impulsada por el propio autor, y la llegada del siglo XXI, donde el arte tradicional convive con la tecnologÃa, la inteligencia artificial y la creación digital.
Con rigor académico y lenguaje literario, Gago Fernández presenta un estudio que es a la vez una historia cultural, un tratado estético y una confesión poética. Cada capÃtulo se cierra con una paráfrasis lÃrica original, donde el compás se convierte en palabra, la emoción se vuelve reflexión, y la música se transforma en filosofÃa de vida.
