El libro Producción lingüÃstica escrita: estructura del párrafo es el segundo libro de la colección en tres libros Producción lingüÃstica escrita. El lenguaje puede ser oral y escrito. Requiere el funcionamiento de mecanismos complejos. El lenguaje oral incluye escuchar y hablar, mientras que el lenguaje escrito consiste en leer y escribir. Hablar-escuchar y escribir-leer constituyen los dos medios fundamentales de producción y percepción del lenguaje. El lenguaje oral es directo y tiene muchos rasgos paralingüÃsticos, como el tono de voz, el contacto visual, el estilo, la postura corporal y los gestos. Los elementos paralingüÃsticos de la comunicación desempeñan un papel importante en la forma en que se transmite el significado, ayudando a los oyentes a interpretar el contenido adecuadamente (Barton).
En cambio, el lenguaje escrito carece de todas las caracterÃsticas paralingüÃsticas mencionadas. No es directo y no fomenta la retroalimentación (Barton).
