Prisioneras polÃticas. Estrategias de resistencia relata la experiencia de jóvenes mujeres militantes de la izquierda revolucionaria enfrentadas a la represión policial y parapolicial durante el perÃodo 1974-1983.
Se trata de diecisiete relatos de vida de mujeres torturadas y encarceladas sin juicio oficial, que vivieron bajo la amenaza constante de ser ejecutadas en represalias por los ataques de los grupos armados de extrema izquierda. La mayorÃa de ellas sólo fueron liberadas después del derrumbe del régimen militar en 1983.
Sin embargo, Isabel Toro -también prisionera durante siete años- no privilegió el relato del terror que fueron las sesiones de tortura, ya expuestos ampliamente por el informe Nunca más, sino que trató de poner en luz cómo un contexto polÃtico habÃa influido en las historias personales de cada una y cuáles habÃan sido los momentos clave; cómo ellas y sus allegados habÃan vivido y dado un sentido a este contexto y a los acontecimientos que habÃan constituido sus instancias culminantes.
Los infortunios del terror posteriores, las pruebas vinculadas a las primeras sesiones de tortura consecutivas a las detenciones, como las vinculadas a interminables encarcelamientos de los que era imposible prever el fin, no debe ocultar lo que fue uno de los elementos clave del terror que las prisioneras soportaron a lo largo de una cautividad cuyo término nunca se fijó la sensación, omnipresente y contra la que habÃa que luchar constantemente para sobrevivir, de que una catástrofe podÃa abatirse sobre ellas en cualquier momento y que, por ello, el futuro era perfectamente imprevisible.Por eso Prisioneras polÃticas se refiere a la condición carcelaria de las militantes revolucionarias, pero es mucho más que eso: es una reflexión sobre el compromiso polÃtico que las llevó, como a una parte de la juventud argentina, a elegir un compromiso revolucionario absoluto.
Norma Isabel Toro nació en Salta (Argentina), donde emprendió estudios de Literatura en la Facultad de Humanidades de la Universidad Nacional de Salta. Exiliada en Francia luego de un periodo en prisión de más de siete años, continuó sus estudios en la universidad de la Sorbonne en Literatura y Comunicación. En el Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) obtuvo el tÃtulo de Consultant en Relations Sociales del Departamento Sociologie du Travail et de l'Entreprise. Como tal trabaja en organismos públicos y privados. En l'Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) obtuvo el diploma de esta casa de estudios. El texto que se presenta en este libro forma parte de un texto premiado en 2015 por l'EHESS: Prisonniers Politiques. Argentine 1974-1983. Stratégies de Résistance.
