La Poética, ó Reglas De La PoseÃa is a seminal work by Ignacio de Luzán, a key figure in 18th-century Spanish literary thought. This edition, Corregida Y Aumentada Por Su Mismo Autor... (Corrected and Augmented by the Author Himself...), represents the definitive version of Luzán's treatise on poetics.
A cornerstone of Neoclassical literary theory in Spain, La Poética outlines the principles of good poetry, drawing heavily from classical sources such as Aristotle and Horace. Luzán's work played a crucial role in shaping Spanish literary tastes and standards, influencing generations of poets and critics. This book provides invaluable insight into the aesthetic values and intellectual currents of its time, making it essential reading for students and scholars of Spanish literature and literary theory. Its enduring relevance lies in its articulation of fundamental principles applicable to poetry across various eras and traditions.
