Pluto el loro is a three-part story about a very special parrot-and the unexpected ways he connects the lives of two children through memory, storytelling, and heart. Blending high-frequency decodable text with rich narrative structure, this book invites early readers to explore friendship, writing, empathy, and doing what's right.
In El loro de Claudio, we meet Claudio as he writes a personal narrative in class about how he found Pluto, a colorful and talkative parrot, in a tree near his apartment. His story captures the attention of his teacher and classmates, inspiring everyone with its vivid details.
In Dónde está Pluto? a student named Clara writes her own narrative-and coincidentally, her lost parrot matches Claudio's in every way. As similarities between the stories surface, their teacher suspects these might be stories about the same parrot.
Finally, in El nuevo hogar de Pluto, Claudio and Clara must navigate a surprising and emotional discovery: they both love the same bird. Through conversation, reflection, and empathy, their families come to a thoughtful resolution that honors the bond both children have with Pluto.
Each story is paired with vocabulary, phonics practice, comprehension questions, and nonfiction texts about parrots and cockatoos-building decoding skills, background knowledge, and moral reasoning.
Pluto el loro is a powerful early reader book that demonstrates how storytelling can lead to connection, compassion, and community.
