It was February 7, 1887 when the most important modernist painter of Gran Canaria opened his eyes to the world for the first time. Né stor Martí n-Ferná ndez de la Torre, a painter among dreams, was an essential artist who observed reality with a magnifying glass and searched in the legends of the world for the most intense feelings of the human being. A painter of the sea and of love, he was a composer of fantastic backgrounds who portrayed the ocean and its enigmatic beings with intense beauty. He enchanted the world with mural decorations and paintings of gods and nymphs, and his art was a great tribute to the nature of the islands.
