Este libro parte de estas y otras preguntas para realizar un recorrido por la poesÃa de los famosÃsimos miembros de la generación del veintisiete, y la de otros miembros no tan famosos: mujeres que escribieron en la misma época como son MartÃnez Sagi, LucÃa Sánchez Saornil o Pilar de Valderrama, que por causas varias no llegaron a tener tanto renombre como sus compañeros de generación.
El estudio examina la aparición de mitos bÃblicos en poemas no religiosos como recursos literarios por medio de los cuales se intenta definir la función del poeta en la convulsa sociedad del primer tercio del siglo XX.
Un interesante recorrido y una perspectiva sorprendentemente novedosa para una generación literaria que tanto sigue dando que hablar.
