Memoria sobre la historia del estudio de la botánica en la Nueva Granada, written by Florentino Vezga, offers a detailed examination of the history of botanical study in the region of New Granada (present-day Colombia). Published in 1859, this work explores the development of botanical knowledge and research during a formative period in Colombian history. Vezga meticulously documents the contributions of various scientists, explorers, and institutions that shaped the field of botany in the area.
This historical account provides valuable insights into the scientific and intellectual context of 19th-century Colombia. The work is divided into two parts, offering a comprehensive overview of botanical studies. This book is an essential resource for historians of science, botanists, and anyone interested in the cultural and scientific heritage of Colombia.
