A moving and poetic book, starring an unexpected friendship and a dream made reality. The elderly Cayetano travels through the city pushing his cart and gathering trinkets that others have discarded. Some people think he's crazy; others think he's a wise man. One day, he meets a silent and sad boy named Fernando who is new to the neighborhood. To cheer him up, Cayetano tells him that he's an inventor and that he's building a dream machine. The boy asks what the machine is for, and Cayetano responds that it's for turning dreams into reality. This premise gives way to an emotional story about friendship aimed at readers of all ages.
