Every anthology is the sum of a literary record. Throughout its historical development, Cuba has witnessed the convergence of various cultural forms. In its physical and human scope, multiple resonances have been confused, which have followed the rhythm of the ups and downs of history, initially indigenous, Spanish and African accents and, later, French, North American and other various origins. However, the genuine Cuban spirit is enlivened by the breath of Hispanicity, which flows through the channels of language, religion, blood and tradition, both cultural and social.

Carlos Manuel Taracido, (Güines, La Habana, 1943). Profesor universitario, poeta y escritor cubano. Ha ejercido la docencia, enseñando Literatura y Lengua española en varias universidades del área metropolitana de Filadelfia. Desde 1986, reside en Miami donde fue profesor de Literatura y Lengua española hasta su jubilación en 2011. Ha publicado importantes libros y artÃculos sobre literatura.

Toda antologÃa es la suma de una constancia literaria. A lo largo de su devenir histórico, Cuba ha presenciado el confluir de diversas formas culturales. En su ámbito fÃsico y humano se han confundido múltiples resonancias, que han seguido el ritmo de los vaivenes de la historia -acentos inicialmente indÃgenas, españoles y africanos y, con posterioridad, franceses, norteamericanos y de otras varias procedencias-. No obstante, el genuino espÃritu cubano se vivifica con el hálito de la hispanidad, que fluye por los cauces de la lengua, la religión, la sangre y la tradición, tanto cultural como social.
