Letras al viento is a poetry book that finds the magic in the mundane. You will find a town, a cat, people who smile and sing in the face of pain - who live, who die, who are grateful for life, family and friends. They fall in and out of love.
These poems portray the ordinary lives we find in this old and wonderful world we live in. Letters to the Wind, which shine in the sun, are experiences that bloom among the cacti of Mexico. The poems found within these pages are bouquets of flowers that I have been collecting along the way. They are portraits - what I live and observe in my daily walk through life. - Author Dora E. Velásquez was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas in 1951. She worked for 30 years as a high school teacher in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Her extensive journey through the classroom gave magic to her restless spirit, which she uses to portray fantastic experiences and emotions that she transmits through this work. Her poems are inspired by the beings of light that surrounded her life. The emotional, the loving, the everyday and the divine are strongly mixed with fantasy, in a way that helps reality hurt a little less.
