Spurgeon: El Tesoro de David, un comentario a toda la Biblia «a la luz de los Salmos considerados como una sÃntesis de todo el mensaje de la Escritura. Cada texto bÃblico, del Génesis al Apocalipsis, encuentra en El Tesoro de David su correspondiente enlace a un versÃculo de los Salmos.
El propósito de la COLECCIÓN SALMOS es fomentar la lectura devocional de la Biblia, leyendo los Salmos de una manera distinta: En 4 versiones comparadas (Reina Valera 1960 - Reina Valera 1977 - Nueva Versión Internacional - La Biblia de las Américas; y una versión poética en rima) y a su vez, enlazando el texto de cada versÃculo del Salmo con otros pasajes de la Escritura.
Cada versÃculo viene comentado de forma devocional por el gran predicador Charles H. Spurgeon (autor de Lecturas Matutinas, Lecturas Vespertinas, El libro de cheques del banco de la fe ); y además por centenares de otros grandes expositores de la Palabra a lo largo de la historia. Estos comentarios enlazan cada versÃculo del Salmo con otros pasajes de la Escritura mediante citas a pie de página. Si el lector busca y lee cada una de estas citas, acabará por leer toda la Biblia: del Génesis al Apocalipsis; a la vez que enriquece su vida espiritual con una comprensión distinta del mensaje de los Salmos. Cada Salmo individual se presenta con un tÃtulo temático que refleja el tema principal del mismo con el propósito de facilitar la elección del lector según las preferencias o necesidades. Y cada libro individual contiene el TEXTO COMPLETO del comentario al Salmo en la obra matriz de: El Tesoro de David.
Aunque el Salmo 121 es más conocido por las palabras del primer versÃculo: Alzaré mis ojos a los montes; De dónde vendrá mi socorro? la clave de su mensaje está en los versÃculos tres al cinco: No dejará que tu pie titubee, ni se dormirá el que te guarda. He aquÃ, no se adormecerá ni dormirá el que guarda a Israel. Jehová es tu guardador, Jehová es tu sombra a tu mano derecha.
Si nuestro Guardián se adormeciera no resistirÃamos un instante; le necesitamos tanto de dÃa como de noche, somos incapaces de dar un solo paso con seguridad si no es bajo su mirada protectora. Esta es, ciertamente, una de las estrofas preferidas en un cántico de peregrinaje. Dios es la escolta y guardaespaldas de sus santos. Y cuando surgen peligros a nuestro alrededor estamos a salvo, porque nuestro Protector y Preservador está siempre despierto y no permitirá que seamos sorprendidos. No hay fatiga o agotamiento posibles que puedan hacer que nuestro Dios caiga en el sueño, sus ojos vigilantes nunca se cierran.
El salmista nos dice que Jehová, asume de gracia el oficio de guardián y lo cumple en persona. Y lo lleva a término con carácter personal: Jehová es tu guardador, en favor de una persona especialmente favorecida en concreto: tú. Somos capaces de hacer nuestra tal aseveración divina?
