This novel tells the story of four teenagers living in a marginalized neighborhood on the outskirts of Port Louis, on the island of Mauritius. Each of them speaks in turn, revealing different forms of violence, particularly violence inflicted on female bodies. Ève prostitutes herself for no clear reason; around her revolve Savita, her closest friend; Sadiq, an amateur poet in love with her; and Clélio, Sadiq's friend and the group's social conscience. The plot accelerates after the murder of one of them, offering a raw and moving look at a reality tourists never see.
