Soul Divided: Nurturing a Renewed Mind is a collection of poems, writings, and stories that are designed to get the reader to think in a way that has not previously been achieved. The poetry segment consists of various topics that individuals might experience on a daily basis and encourages the reader to think in-depth while reflecting on them. I believe that emotions are similar to guitar strings and that words do the plucking, and I can assure you that out of all the poems written in this book, at least one of them will move you.
As for the writing segment, two topics are discussed that reflect different ideas that I had, which subsequently turned into studies after investigations that I had made. What I do not want is for people to think that the information is true just because it was written in a book; rather, what I want more than anything is to promote individual thought and critical thinking, which I have no doubt the reader will acquire. Overall, I hope the reader gets something from this that is applicable to their life. For their benefit, for His glory!
Thomas Beck believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that the circumstances in our lives are meant to be shared with one another. As someone who has not always been sincere about his belief, Thomas realized that God provides us with experiences in order for us to have different templates built for how we should react in life, so that our appreciation of Him only increases. He believes that experiences are part of the process and, along with effort, are ingredients for a strong mind.
