Songs of Kabir is a collection of poems by the Indian mystic poet Kabir, translated into English by Nobel laureate Sir Rabindranath Tagore. The book contains 100 poems that explore the themes of spirituality, love, devotion, and the search for truth. Kabir's poetry is known for its simplicity and accessibility, and for its ability to transcend religious and cultural boundaries. In his poems, he often uses imagery from nature and everyday life to convey his spiritual message. Tagore's translation captures the essence of Kabir's poetry and makes it accessible to a wider audience. The book is a beautiful exploration of the human spirit and its quest for meaning and purpose. It is a must-read for anyone interested in Indian spirituality and poetry.1915. The poet Kabir is one of the most interesting personalities in the history of Indian mysticism. A great religious reformer, the founder of a sect to which nearly a million northern Hindus still belong, it is yet supremely as a mystical poet that Kabir lives for us. His wonderful songs survive; the spontaneous expressions of his vision and his love; and it is by these, not by the didactic teachings associated with his name, that he makes his immortal appeal to the heart. In these poems a wide range of mystical emotion is brought into play expressed in homely metaphors and religious symbols drawn from Hindu and Mohammedan belief. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
