I wrote these poems asking myself-what truth could I learn from trees. There is a feeling when you go into nature, that connection, that sense of belonging, that seems to arise from the songs of the birds, from the insects, from the wind and leaves. This feeling is intrinsic to being human, evolving from our origin in nature. We can no longer hear our own selves, our own desires, or each other. We feel disconnected. Our inner nature grows less and less natural. The song of the forest unheard. These poems reminders to listen.
