Solar Myths and Christian Festivals is a book written by Edward Carpenter that explores the origins and symbolism behind many religious holidays and traditions. The book focuses on the connection between solar mythology and the Christian calendar, arguing that many of the holidays and festivals celebrated by Christians have roots in ancient sun-worshipping religions. Carpenter delves into the history and mythology of various cultures, including ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as the traditions of the Druids and other pagan groups. He also examines the symbolism of the sun and its relationship to the cycles of nature, arguing that the Christian calendar was designed to align with the rhythms of the natural world. The book is a fascinating exploration of the history and meaning behind some of the most important holidays and traditions in Western culture, and provides a unique perspective on the intersection of religion, mythology, and nature.THIS 22 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Pagan and Christian Creeds: Their Origin and Meaning, by Edward Carpenter.
