social erasure

What if you could delete your worst critics from reality with a single keystroke? For disgraced pet influencer Lucy, the answer is a dream come true--until the shadows start purring.

After a public cancellation destroys her career, Lucy finds a suspicious MacBook at a church yard sale. It's sleek, it's powerful, and it has a unique 'sudo' command that doesn't just delete files--it erases people. One by one, the trolls and rivals who ruined her life vanish from the internet and from memory. Finally, Lucy has the 'perfect feed' she's always craved. No noise. No hate. Just pure, curated silence.

But perfection has a parasitic price.

As her apartment fills with 'Ghost-Pets'--flickering, low-frame-rate manifestations of the things she's deleted--Lucy's own reality begins to glitch. Her prize-winning Pomeranian, Biscotti, is physically wasting away, his fur falling out in patches that mirror the MacBook's keyboard. The Glitch-Cat, a stuttering digital ghost, is watching her every move.

Now, Lucy is racing against a ticking cursor. As the line between the digital world and the physical one dissolves, she must face the ultimate philosophical horror: In a world where everything 'imperfect' is erased, is there anything left of herself to save?

Social Erasure is a chilling work of supernatural suspense that explores the terrifying narcissism of modern curation. If you enjoyed the unsettling tech-horror of Black Mirror and the haunting atmosphere of Mexican Gothic, you'll devour Gabriella Creighton's descent into the void.
