When Terry was in the second grade, his teacher noticed he was having difficulties with his school work. After several tests over a span of two years to figure out what the problem was, Terry was enrolled in special education classes for Communicative/Perceptive Disorder. What followed were seven years being in the P/C Lab, and the problems it caused with family friends, peers, and school as the stigma of being a special education student took it's toll.
Told in a conversational manner, in this book Terry describes his school life as well as his personal life and the way society was in the 1970s and '80s, which not only covers his experiences in the special education system, but those involving fellow students, crushes he had on girls, bullying, indifferent and hostile teachers, and teachers who not only taught him school subjects, but about life as well, in what he calls the happiest days of his life.
