Kirstin cannot wait to celebrate her 60th birthday with close friend, Susannah, rubbing shoulders with the gorgeous and glamorous of Monaco. Their excitement is tainted before they depart, however, when they see a breakfast TV report about a shooting in the Casino de Monte Carlo in Monaco - precisely where they're headed. Not only that, but Max Tarrant - a 'so-called celebrity/New York game show host' and Kirstin's ex-husband - has been injured. Despite the drama, the women head for the casino on their first night, and between the gaming tables and slot machines, they hear more gory details surrounding the shooting. This blast from the past has sparked the women's sleuthing skills, and after carrying out their own investigations, they discover he is actually working undercover for the US Government Anti-Terrorism Agency. Little by little, several incidents occur - assumed to be terrorist activity. And when a suspect package is found at the casino, followed by a terrorist attack on the Palais de Justice de Monaco, it appears Kirstin and Susannah are getting a little closer to events than they realised. Their unsuspecting husbands know little of what is really going on... but they have other things on their mind. While the wives are away, the husbands will play. The sleeping tiger awakens and throws all kinds of death, guilt, destruction and danger into the mix. Will the women survive their Monaco trip unharmed? Will their husbands reveal the truth about how close they've become during their absence? What is Max Tarrant really up to? This fast-moving tale of espionage, undercover tactics, fatalities, unfaithful husbands, terrorism, suicide, and domestic abuse is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
