A glance lasts longer. A touch carries a promise. For the first time, Anok discovers a feeling more powerful than fear-and something worth risking his life to protect.
But love cannot stop hunger, cold or danger. Old rivalries follow the survivors, trust begins to fracture, and every decision may determine who reaches the next morning. As two groups struggle to understand each other, Anok realizes that words can do more than name animals and warn of danger. They can preserve memories, reveal hidden feelings, create loyalty-and divide people.
In Book One, Anok's people began finding words.
Now they must learn what words can do.
ANOK II continues the journey into a time before history, when survival depended on courage, loyalty and the fragile bonds between people. It is a story of escape, first love and growing into responsibility in a world without roads, maps or certainty.
