Size Standardization By Preferred Numbers by C. F. Hirshfield is a book that discusses the concept of preferred numbers and their application in size standardization. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the history and development of preferred numbers, as well as their use in various industries such as engineering, manufacturing, and construction. The author explains the mathematical principles behind preferred numbers, which are based on geometric progressions and logarithmic scales. These numbers are used to create a series of standard sizes that are easy to remember and use, and that can be applied to a wide range of products and materials. The book also covers the practical aspects of size standardization, including the selection of preferred numbers for specific applications, the development of standard sizes for different types of products, and the benefits of using standard sizes in manufacturing and construction.Overall, Size Standardization By Preferred Numbers is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the principles and practices of size standardization, and for those who want to learn more about the role of preferred numbers in this field. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
