Nestled just outside the city limits of Spokane, Washington on private property stands a four-story historic home. In it live two sisters. Blanche and Lizzy. An isolated road bearing the Hollow sisters name runs through the vast land and is closed off to public access. Ancient trees keep watch, their roots buried deep in the rich soil but that's not the only thing hidden on this wild and secluded land.
Blanche, the younger of the two sisters is repeatedly visited by horrifying night terrors and premonitions. Haunted by both the past and the present, Blanche will do anything to protect her older sister Lizzy and keep them together. Naturally quiet and timid, Lizzy oftentimes feels like she lives in her younger sister's shadow. She's fiercely loyal to her sister despite feelings of resentment and jealousy over the constant attention Blanche effortlessly attracts from the opposite sex.
Blanche is plagued by a reoccurring nightmare of awakening covered in blood only to discover the first boyfriend she ever had lying on the ground dead beside her. Each time this memory comes to her in a dream, she awakens with a nagging feeling that she did something terrible. Her older sister Lizzy is the only other person who was there that night and is her only solace when this nightmare comes back to haunt her. And just as with each time, after Lizzy retells the sequence of events from that long ago night, Blanche is left with the nagging sensation that her sister might be lying.
Both sisters share an uncanny obsession their tenant, Roy. This unhealthy preoccupation slowly causes each of the sisters to unravel.
Jealousy, insanity and paranoia come together to make a gothic tale of deceit where the bond between sisters might just be the strongest bond of all. A shocking truth from the past hidden away in the guest cottage that lies just beyond the main house. The trees and their roots run just as deep on this old and ancient land as the secrets of the sisters of Hollow Road.
