Sicarii Destruction-Dishonour-Despair A story of duplicity and betrayal Sicarii, a Story of Duplicity and Betrayal details the exploits of an unforgettable cast of extremists, mobsters, and heroes who emerged during three distinct epochs. Inspired by real events, Laurence Brown draws the reader into a world of human anguish, political intrigues, corruption and indoctrination. In 70 CE, The Roman Caesar Nero ordered Vespasian and Titus to destroy Judea. Yochanan Ben Zakkai and his nephew and nemesis, Abba Sikra have different opinions how to engage the enemy. Nineteen centuries later Pablo Escobar, the world's most notorious drug lord, is building his billion-dollar Medellín Cartel together with notorious Javier Ceballos. International power brokers battle to keep the cocaine off the streets of Miami, but ultimately fail, as corruption, betrayal, and deception are rife. Man's weakness and greed ensue, and nobody is to be trusted. In 2012, Karen Cohen, an innocent civilian almost looses her life. Constable Avishai Levy arrests Jacob Stern who is an Ultra-Orthodox activist. Events then unfold that change the lives of many in the town and beyond. Vivid and explosive, Sicarii is a fascinating tale of fundamentalism and extremism over two millennia. This novel is confronting for the reader. But most of all, the novel is about the power of friendship and love.
