This concise history explores the town and its famous castle, providing readers with a comprehensive overview of Dover's development. The book also describes the villages within six miles of Dover, giving a broader context to the region's history and significance.
Originally published in 1828, this historical sketch provides valuable insights into the social, economic, and political landscape of Dover during that era. It is an essential resource for anyone interested in English local history, particularly the history of Kent and its coastal communities. The book captures the essence of Dover's historical importance and its enduring legacy.
